The foundation of any industrialized economy is based on the ideal flow of products, services, and people. Narendra Modi government recognized that without a vibrant logistics backbone, India can’t aspire to be an economic superpower by 2047.
The National Logistics Program, which the Prime Minister just released, offers an overarching vision for India's logistics industry and builds on the Gati Shakti policy for a comprehensive, uniform development of the nation's infrastructure. It necessitates careful consideration of planning and decision-making.
But keeping in mind that recent unplanned growth in Indian cities has exploded, and this will play a major role in designing the nation's logistical infrastructure. India needs to concentrate on city logistics and build “freight-smart cities" which is still a growing idea.
